Jonathan Butler

Jon Butler helps clients make confident real estate decisions by providing thoughtful mortgage guidance, creative financing strategies, and consistent communication throughout the loan process. Whether he is helping someone purchase a first home, refinance an existing property, or finance an investment, Jon focuses on simplifying the details and creating a smooth path to closing. His previous career in Michelin-level restaurants and boutique hotels shaped the service-driven approach he brings to mortgage lending today: responsive, detail-oriented, and centered around the individual client. Outside of work, Jon volunteers with the Riverside Mountain Rescue Unit, serving his community as part of a technical search-and-rescue team. He also enjoys trail running, mountaineering, camping, cooking, and exploring the outdoors with his wife and their French bulldog, Nico.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Pre-Qualification and Pre-Approval the same thing?

No. Pre-qualification and pre-approval are two different things. Pre-qualification means that a mortgage lender has reviewed your financial records and believes you will qualify for a loan. A pre-approval is a conditional commitment from a lender that they will lend you the money for a mortgage.

Will getting quoted hurt my credit score?

A single mortgage inquiry has a minor, temporary effect, and credit bureaus count multiple mortgage inquiries within a 45-day window as one shopping event. We only pull credit when you're ready — never for an initial conversation.

How long does closing take?

A typical purchase closes in 21–30 days from accepted offer; refinances usually run 2–3 weeks. Clean files with responsive borrowers can move faster — our underwrite target is 48 hours.

Why use a broker instead of my bank?

A bank can offer you its shelf. As a brokerage, we shop hundreds of wholesale lenders and price your exact scenario across them — which is how tricky files get approved and easy files get cheaper.

When should I lock my rate?

When the payment works for your budget, not when the news feels calm. We watch the market daily, tell you when your target is available, and many of our programs include a float-down if rates improve before closing.
